2. Data we process
Depending on how you use the website, we may process identification and contact information, billing and delivery addresses, customer account information, orders, ordered products, payment and delivery status, communications with customer service, newsletter and cookie preferences and certain technical data required for the operation and security of the website.
3. Purposes of processing
We process data in particular to create and manage customer accounts, record and fulfil orders, process payments, arrange delivery, provide customer support, respond to requests, comply with accounting and legal obligations, protect the website, manage consent and, where requested, send marketing communications or measure use of the website.
4. Orders and payments
Information required for an order is processed by Ethnic World SA and by the service providers required to fulfil it.
Electronic payments are processed using Worldline's Saferpay solution and, depending on the method selected, by other participants in the relevant payment system. Information required to authorise and confirm a payment is exchanged with these providers. Worldline states that Saferpay data processing takes place in Switzerland.
The payment methods actually available are those displayed during checkout.
5. Delivery, management and support
Information required for delivery is provided to the selected carrier to the extent necessary to deliver the order. Order information may also be processed in the management and ERP systems used by Ethnic World SA and by technical service providers engaged to operate and maintain those systems.
6. Newsletter and Brevo
Subscription to the newsletter is voluntary. We process in particular the email address and subscription status in order to send the communications requested and honour unsubscribe requests.
Ethnic World SA uses Brevo as a marketing and newsletter tool. When data is used in Brevo for a campaign, the information required for that mailing may be processed by Brevo on behalf of Ethnic World SA.
As of 30 September 2026, the website's Brevo integration does not enable page or cart tracking, Marketing Automation, automatic customer or order synchronisation, e-commerce features or SMTP transport for transactional emails.
Brevo states that the databases used for its service are hosted within the European Union, notably in France, Germany and Belgium.
You can unsubscribe from marketing communications using the unsubscribe link provided in the relevant messages. Certain information may remain on a suppression list in order to respect your choice on an ongoing basis.
7. Hosting and transactional email
The website and its hosting and email services use Infomaniak infrastructure. Transactional emails from the website are currently delivered using the SMTP service configured with Infomaniak.
8. Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA
Google Analytics is used to measure use of the website only after you consent to the corresponding category in the cookie manager.
Google reCAPTCHA v3 is used on selected forms to prevent abuse and automated submissions. Technical information may therefore be transmitted to Google for risk assessment.
Depending on the service and Google's applicable terms, Google services may involve processing outside Switzerland, including in the United States.
9. Recipients of data
Depending on the processing concerned, recipients may include hosting and email providers, payment service providers, carriers, newsletter and marketing providers, technical and ERP service providers, security and analytics services and public authorities where required by law.
Data is disclosed only to the extent required for the relevant purpose or where a legal obligation requires it.
10. Disclosure of data abroad
Certain service providers may process data outside Switzerland. Where required by applicable law, Ethnic World SA ensures that an adequate level of protection or recognised safeguards are in place. Services currently used may in particular involve processing in the European Union and, for certain Google services, in the United States.
11. Retention
Data is retained for as long as required for the purposes for which it was collected and for as long as legal, contractual or evidentiary obligations require.
Accounting books and supporting documents subject to Swiss retention requirements are generally retained for ten years. Newsletter data is retained while a subscription remains active or for as long as required to honour an unsubscribe request. Other retention periods depend on the nature of the processing and the applicable obligations.
12. Your rights
Within the limits of applicable law, you may in particular request information about the processing of your personal data, correction or deletion of that data and, where the statutory conditions are met, delivery or transmission of the data in a commonly used electronic format.

13. Security
Ethnic World SA applies technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or improper disclosure. However, no information system can provide absolute security.
